Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data Souq Juman processes, why it is used, who may receive it and the choices available to you.

Last updated: 20 August 2026

1. Who is responsible for your data

Souq Juman operates this marketplace and acts as the data controller for information collected through the platform. Independent sellers may receive the limited order information required to fulfil your purchases and must handle it only for that purpose and in accordance with applicable law.

2. Data we collect

  • Account and identity information, such as your name, email address, phone number and login credentials in protected form.
  • Order and delivery information, including products, delivery address, chosen delivery method and order history.
  • Seller information submitted when applying for or operating a store.
  • Payment references, payment status and transaction identifiers supplied by Tap Payments. Souq Juman does not store complete card numbers or card security codes.
  • Technical and security information, such as IP address, browser or device data, access logs and essential session information.
  • Messages, support requests and other information you choose to provide.

3. Why we use your data

  • To create and protect accounts and verify users.
  • To process payments, orders, delivery, returns and refunds.
  • To provide order updates and respond to support requests.
  • To operate seller stores and calculate marketplace commissions and settlements.
  • To prevent fraud, misuse and security incidents and to comply with legal obligations.
  • To improve platform reliability and the customer experience.

4. When we share data

We share only what is reasonably needed with the seller fulfilling your order, Tap Payments and relevant financial institutions, delivery providers, hosting and technical service providers, professional advisers, and public authorities where disclosure is required by law. We do not sell personal data.

Some service providers may process data outside Bahrain. Where this occurs, we use applicable legal safeguards and require appropriate protection for the information.

5. Cookies and local storage

The platform uses essential cookies or browser storage to maintain sessions, remember the shopping cart and language, protect accounts and complete checkout. Disabling essential storage may prevent parts of the platform from working.

6. Retention and security

We retain personal data only for as long as needed for the purposes described above, including transaction, accounting, dispute-prevention and legal requirements. We use reasonable organisational and technical safeguards, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security.

7. Your rights

Subject to Bahrain's Personal Data Protection Law and applicable exceptions, you may ask whether we process your data and request access, correction, objection, blocking or erasure. You may also withdraw consent where processing relies on consent, without affecting earlier lawful processing.

8. Children and policy changes

The marketplace is not intended for children to use independently. We may update this policy when our services or legal obligations change; the latest version and revision date will remain published on this page.
